XBox
In my opinion, the XBox is the greatest console. It is quite large and weighs about 10 pounds. Built by Microsoft, it's insides look very much like a computer's. It has many features that really stand out and show why there is no power greater than X.
Features-
Graphics
The XBox has a 250MHz graphic processor and a 733MHz CPU, making it the strongest system. It allows games to show realistic lighting and shading, and can show many activities happening at once and in high detail. This thing dishes out graphics way better than the Gamecube or Playstation.
Sound
Have your choice. The XBox supports the following:
Mono - Same sound from every speaker. Boring!
Stereo - Left and right speakers. A step up, but still not as cool as:
Dolby Digital 5.1 - 3 speakers in the front, 2 behind, and a subwoofer. Now thats what I'm talking about!
Other features
Music- A GREAT feature. You can download your favorite music from CDs to your XBox. Some games even let you listen to them while playing! The only problem is you can't listen to CD-RWs and some CD-Rs. I have 3 soundtracks on my XBox, but I don't have to worry about taking up too much room because of:
The harddrive- The best feature. 300,000+ blocks of memory inside (no memory cards needed). Thats 8GIGs!
DVD- You can use your XBox as a DVD player. The only drawback is that you need to buy the DVD remote for it, and it takes up one of your controller ports (though you wont need it to watch a DVD, but you might lose the little gizmo when you switch it) Not bad though for all the other stuff you get for $179.
XBox Live- Play your favorite games over the net. You have to have a broadband connection and pay $9.95 a month after your free year, but it is worth the price.
Controllers
Original (Duke)- The biggest (litterally) problem with the XBox. The size of this controller is terrible! The buttons arn't really placed that well, and some of them are hard to get to. The bulkiness can be pretty uncomfortable. You should definently switch to:
Controller 'S'- The smaller version of the original controller. The buttons are in a much better arangment and the smaller size allows for great comfort. I prefer the controller over even the Playstations controller.
